English is the main language spoken, but there is a wide range of accents and dilects spoken across Scotland.
The Celtic language of Gaelic is the historic native language of Scotland and it is still spoken today. The number of speakers of Gaelic are increasing.
Scotland is home to 170 different languages due to the growing diverse population.
Government: Constitutional Monarchy.
Since Scotland is part of the United Kingdom Queen Elizabeth II is recognized as their queen. With David Cameron MP as the Prime Minister of the UK, and Nicola Sturgeon MSP as the First Minister of Scotland.
The Church of Scotland is the national church of the country. And has played a large roll in promoting tolerence and has a big influece on the countrie's culture.
The majority practice Christianity with many different different denominations including; the Roman Catholic Church, Presbyterians, Pentecostals, Baptists and Episcopalians, along with Methodists, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Congregationalists.
Due to the cultural diversity there are also many other religions present including; Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. Other minority religions include; Rasta, Neopagan and Bahai Faith.
